We are delighted to announce IAG’s appointment as administrator to J2 Acquisition Limited (“J2”), a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (“SPAC”) domiciled in the British Virgin Islands.
J2 has been created to pursue the acquisition of a company or business (“the Acquisition”). There is no specific expected target value for the Acquisition, neither will it be limited to a particular industry or geographic region.
A SPAC is an investment fund that raises money through an IPO on a recognised public stock market and invests in a single private equity type transaction through merger or acquisition.
J2 successfully completed its US$1.25 billion initial public share offering on the main market of the London Stock Exchange in the final quarter of 2017 and is the sixth SPAC administered by IAG, bringing the total capital raised by IAG-administered SPACs to US$4.85 billion.
J2 was founded by Martin Franklin, Ian Ashken and James Lillie. The Founders have been involved in eight SPACs including Nomad Holdings Limited, Platform Acquisition Holdings Limited and Justice Holdings Limited, all having been administered by IAG. Messrs. Franklin and Ashken have worked together for over 27 years and have worked with Mr. Lillie for over 14 years. Each of the Founders has a track record of building growth-oriented businesses on the foundation of strategic planning, organic growth and opportunistic acquisitions.
IAG’s flexible service offering enables us to tailor our services to the underlying client’s needs, including full accounting services up to Acquisition as well as regulatory and company secretarial support.
